Spring Break

This past week was Annah's Spring Break (Liam lives in a perpetual state of spring break) so Alle (The Boys and Me) and I got the wild idea to take all three kids to the beach for one night. A lot of things were chaotic, at best, but one thing is for sure...the kids had a blast! It was a bit colder in Charleston but they didn't seem to mind. Annah and Liam swam in the pool (Henry napped) and we all went to the beach. We took them to Waterfront Park on our way home and Annah was in her element there. Here are some of the 100 (yes, 100+ pictures) that I took...

No Chance of a Future in Poker

Ah, Sweet Liam...you have to love a kid who wears his heart on his sleeve. Whatever he is feeling, there is no doubt in any one's mind. Generally, he is a happy kid, so this is a pretty good thing. Subtlety is totally lost on him. I believe that this "here I am, take it or leave it" attitude will take him far...unless his dream is to play poker. Sadly, there is...

Make New Friends, But Keep the Old

One is silver, and the other's gold
Oh the wonders of technology. I laughed at Will when he first joined facebook, but I am so glad that I joined too. It is so easy to lose contact with friends as we grow and change in our lives, but I have been able to reconnect with friends I never knew I was missing, until I knew. Several of these friends are girls I went to camp with almost every summer until college. Camp is a hard thing to explain to someone who has never gone...it is a second family...a group of girls who you lived with for 2 months, didn't see again for 10 months, and picked up right where you left off the next summer...a place where you are never judged...never have to wear make-up...a place where you can be yourself and that is always good enough. One such camp friend is Alicia (Making Memories). It turns out that Alicia has a little boy is is just a week older that Liam and they have family in Charleston. It happened that they were in Charleston on a day when the kids and I could make it down there for a visit. It was nice to catch up and the kids got along great. We met at Waterfront Park and the kiddos had a blast!

Liam and Michael. It makes me laugh when Liam talks to someone his own age...so cute!

It would have been a much drier visit had the kids not seen the pineapple fountain

Oh, but they had fun!

After some outdoor fun, we ate lunch (Fleet Landing, which was fantastic) and headed back home. Looking forward to our next visit!
